the mullet shirt . what I wore

August 29, 2012 separator Uncategorized

I haven’t done an outfit post in forever, but I’m in love with this wall, and this seemed like a good enough reason to photograph it, right? I wore this to an art fair – so fun! I was hesitant to wear this dress because I’m super tall, which makes everything look ridiculously short on me. But it didn’t end up being too bad, and I’m in love with these shoes! Who knew that platforms could be so ridiculously comfortable?!
You can’t tell from the picture, but the handkerchief shirt is a “mullet” (high low) style – short in the front and looong in the back, and it’s a button up. Or button down?
I will say that these pictures are making me just the tiniest bit nostalgic about my long hair. I don’t usually miss it, but when I look at these, I definitely miss my giant, messy top knot!

shirt, Ali & Kris (similar style, $20)  .  dress, American Eagle (similar, $27)
shoes, Arizona (similar, $45)
bracelets, Amrita Singh, $40 + vintage + handmade by me (tutorial coming soon!)   .
necklace, vintage  .  purse, vintage  .  earrings, handmade by me
I’m realizing I’m terrible at this because I buy everything on clearance out of season or from the thrift store, so you can’t get any of the actual pieces anymore… :/  Sorry, you guys!

  1. I like the wall too. I like how only the brick is painted and not the mortar. Cute outfit too!

  2. Great wall, very good reason for a photo shoot. Also, have to say, don’t know if you invented it but the concept of a “mullet” shirt made me laugh out loud and I mean that literally.

    1. I can’t take credit for the term, as I first heard it in reference to the high low skirts, but I have absolutely appropriated it for my own humor! lol
