Fact about me: I have a borderline psychotic mild obsession with animals. I love them. Pretty much all of them. I like to think they love me back, so I’m on a quest to hug them. Pretty much all of them.
Welcome to one of my favorite animal hugs of all time. As much as I’d love to say I met this little fellow while trekking it somewhere in Australia, I think my outfit probably gives me away. My amigo actually lives at Kentucky Down Under, which is a little animal park that we always pass driving home to visit family out of state. I had low expectations going in, and then this happened.
And my life was complete. Okay, maybe not quite, but it did set the bar pretty high for future animal hugs…
P.S. Kangaroos are one of the softest things ever. Just thought you should know.
Additional Animal Hugs
lamb . chinchilla . shark . duck
hey! i think you mentioned a petting zoo in KY, my friends and I are driving to Mammoth Caves next Sunday/Monday, any chance it’s nearby?
That’s cool! I’d totally want a pet kangaroo if I could have one.
Another animal that’s suuuper soft – rays! You’ve got to pet/hug some when you get a chance. I got a chance to in Singapore and they were really friendly too. Check out the freeze frame of the third video: http://maryqin.com/2011/05/awesome-aquatic-pets
This is so adorable!! You hugging animals is hands down my favorite of your features on the blog. Just too cute. I lived in Australia for 6 months as an au pair, and the kangaroos never got old. I don’t know if you could do this where you went, but one of the parks that I went to had kangaroo food and you could feed them. One of the best moments of my life. Also, the family that I au paired for had gone to a place (I think in Sydney) where you can hold a koala. Like a baby. I died when I heard. I think koalas should be next on your list, they might be my favorite animals, they are just so freakin cute and so soft (I got to pet one, but I didn’t get to hold it)
this is too cute! i hope you reach your goal.
One of my old school friends had a rescued kangaroo that would not leave. So it would follow her to school most days. Always a laugh to see a kangaroo peeking over the school fence.
Baby animals are pretty darn irresistible, I say.
Love it!! 🙂
