People are already calling for winter, but I’m still stuck on summer – the height of it, with the sun beating down on picnics. I would always pick way too hot over suffering the least bit of chill, so these already-brisk mornings are making me cringe, to say the very least.
When I start to get too hung up on the downfall of my beloved 100 degree days, I revisit my favorite summer pictures. These are from a picnic Andrei and I took with a couple dear friends last month. We munched, sipped incredibly cheap wine, and watched A Midsummer Night’s Dream under the stars. Because that’s what summer’s for, isn’t it?
Are you summer-loving like I am, or are you one of those people I’m about to unfriend on Facebook because they keep talking about boots and snow? ;D
Yes, my friends, that’s Two Buck Chuck. I might as well be a walking, talking Trader Joe’s infomercial since ours opened up last month. I think we might be single-handedly keeping them in business… ;D
The tip that you gave was both highly clever and unusual. This sleight of hand of yours has astonished and impressed me.

I knew I recognized that blueberry vanilla goat cheese from TJ’s ; )
Did you make the raspberry tart? I need that recipe, quick before raspberries disappear from the farmer’s market!
That cake looks delicious! Raspberries are reason enough to love summer, right?
Honestly, I don’t mind summer, but *this* summer has been terrible! Way too many 90+ degree days with high humidity. I don’t like it when my eyes sweat just standing there. I don’t know if I’m exactly looking forward to winter – driving in snow isn’t always awesome, but I do love autumn. Plus, my fall wardrobe is just much better than my summer one 🙂
P.S. I’m about to reach through my screen and grab that brie!
Gorgeous pictures. (I love the color of your nail polish, BTW :D)
Personally, I’m not looking forward to winter. But I’m ready for fall. I love autumn days…boots, pumpkin spice lattes, cozy fireplaces. I can’t wait!

Absolutely pretty pictures ! It’s always summer here in Sri Lanka and I am with you 100% when you say you’d rather take the heat over the least bit of chill. 🙂
Awe! We didn’t go on a picnic this year. You know, funny thing. My husband and I never have. We must do that before it gets chilly!! 🙂
Looks like you had fun!
