Hey, guys!! Ana here, a dessert lover and one of the contributors for this awesome site. Today I’m here to share with you a super delicious recipe that’s also healthy and shockingly easy to make: a peanut butter chocolate bark (all the heart-eyed emojis!)
Trust me when I say this is the perfect recipe for January. You know — the month when you are feeling bad for all the delicious treats you ate during the holidays and the one that makes you want to press the reset button on your eating habits… But don’t worry my friend. You don’t need to stop eating all the sweet treats you crave because you can actually have your health and eat your cake/chocolate too (what? isn’t that a phrase?)
So, peanut butter chocolate bark to the rescue!! This little bite of sweet dreams is made with dark chocolate and natural peanut butter, and it’s just like a peanut butter cup minus the guilt. It’s full of antioxidants (the dark chocolate is an antioxidant powerhouse!) and healthy fats (hi peanut butter!), it will also keep you full longer, so this is pretty much the best snack ever!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Bark Recipe + Tips
You only need two ingredients, five minutes, and a bit of patience while it hardens — that’s all! Seriously, my friend, this is the easiest dessert recipe you are going to find around.
You can make this as simple or as elaborated as you want. When I’m feeling extra lazy, I just make it with chocolate and peanut butter, but if I’m feeling a bit more adventurous I also add some chopped nuts and a drizzle of white chocolate. If I’m feeling extra creative I add some edible glitter because everything’s better with glitter, right?!
P.S. You can find edible glitter stars right here, and don’t forget to check out what else we’ve done with them!
- 3/4 Cup dark chocolate chips or chunks
- 1/4 Cup all natural peanut butter cups broken into chunks
- Cut some wax paper or parchment paper and place it on your counter top. This is where you are going to pour the melted chocolate.
- Melt the chocolate over a double-boiler or in the microwave.
- Pour half of the chocolate on top of the paper.
- Top with peanut butter cup chunks.
- Drizzle with the rest of the melted chocolate.
- Let it harden for 30 minutes or until done.
- Enjoy!
If you don’t have any all-natural peanut butter cups on hand, feel free to substitute regular old peanut butter. The result is just as delicious!
Don’t like peanut butter? Swap it up for any other nut or seed butter that you like. I have tried them with almost any butter under the sun and they are always a hit. Almond butter and coconut butter are two of my favorites.
